In 2006 I was lucky enough to move to Paris for two years and while there to study with Nina Kovacheva. I'd been painting since the age of 18 but I wanted to feel that lump in my throat and my landscape and still life painting wasn't cutting it. Under the tutelage of Nina I discovered a stronger painting voice and a more soulful way to express myself. I am inspired by all the artists that came before me whose work changed over and over again through their career. It's not necessarily evolution or regression but it is allowing the feeling or idea one wants to express. Though my style (Abstraction or Non-Objective) has stayed consistent my tools and techniques are always changing.
"Color was not given to us in order that we should imitate Nature. It was given to us so that we can express our emotions."
